For the series Good Folk on this blog I have sent interview questions to some really wonderful people who are either making things, running shops, or generally promoting sustainability. I think you will enjoy reading their answers as much as I have, and I hope they inspire us all with the knowledge that there are people doing good in the world!
This interview is with Nika from Paczero, a new online eco-friendly marketplace. Each product sold on it must have 3 or more sustainable qualities, and they also have a customer loyalty scheme.
Tell me about yourself and the work that you do.
Hi everyone! My name is Nika. I'm a mum to a beautiful one year old boy. After three great years in Bristol we recently moved to South Somerset. I love a good wild weekend with the family roaming the woods and the beaches.
Since the start of the year I've been building a marketplace for eco-friendly products, which recently went live. I spend a lot of time choosing brands for my platform who truly champion sustainability because I want it to be a space that mindful buyers can trust.
How or why did you get started?
In everyday life I have always had a strong sense of what is and isn't good for our environment.
Through seeing the crisis become so urgent and from my experience of having a child, this awareness has evolved into a need to make a real contribution to the future.
What is your favourite thing about the work that you do?
I love encouraging people to think about shopping in a more sustainable way. I also love connecting with people who are passionate about protecting the environment and learning about their crafts and what makes their brand unique.
Where can we find you on the internet, buy your work, or join in?
