CURVE necklace: starfish orange
Gorgeous orange/pink yarn crochet into a simple but stunning curve shaped statement necklace.
T-shirt yarn is a by-product of the fashion industry, making this item eco friendly as well as gorgeous ♻️ T-shirt yarn is comprised of off-cuts and pattern wastage, so is technically all of the parts that don’t actually make it into being a t-shirt. It is actually brand new fabric that would be considered by factories as waste, rescuing it as yarn diverts it from the waste stream. Using waste as a material can mean that fewer virgin materials need to be manufactured. This listing is for 1 necklace. Tied with a simple bow at the back, this necklace can be adjusted to hang at your desired length: approx length of crochet section 20cm, approx length end to end 110cm.
Each item is handmade from a recycled yarn and therefore unique; exact colours, pattern and width of yarn may vary. Some fabric may have rough edges and/or pin holes and patterns may have irregularities in their print, all part of the recycling process! Please see my other listings for more colour choices.
What is t-shirt yarn? T-shirt yarn has many names: jersey yarn, trapilho & zpaghetti to name a few. You can make your own using old t-shirts, but the yarn used here is brand new fabric that has been reclaimed from fashion industry waste. It is made from textile leftovers in the form of long strips of fabric wound into a bobbin. As the long, flat strips are wound tightly the fabric is pulled and the edges roll in towards each other and create a rounded yarn. The yarn has ‘raw’ edges, which can sometimes curl in and out throughout the jewellery. This is the nature of the irregular material.
Composition of each t-shirt yarn varies Typical composition is 90% cotton 10% elastane, however this necklace may contain other quantities of synthetic and natural fibers. This necklace is made with t-shirt yarn rescued by: Hoooked “Zpagetti is the original 100% recycled textile yarn made of superior quality recycled textile selvedges and remnants.”
COLOUR these necklace colours are very tricky to photograph as they fluoresce, therefore please allow for some colour difference. For example your necklace may look brighter than these photographs in the sun, or under a black light (disco anyone?!), and may look less bright indoors. As a rule, I'd say the photographs probably make them look a little brighter than they actually are.
These necklaces have long cords and tie fastenings and are not suitable for children
